Backstory

Brian was a communications technician before the collapse, then a courier for the trade networks that stitched the scattered settlements together. Three months ago, he watched his sister succumb to the Plague—not to death, but to the voices. She walked into the wasteland following phantom instructions, and he never found her body. Now he runs encrypted messages between factions, trading information for clues about infection vectors and resistance. He's developed an obsessive habit of testing his own sanity daily, convinced he can feel the virus creeping at the edges of his thoughts. His real mission is personal: he's been secretly collecting data on the Plague's spread pattern, believing that if he can map it, he might find where it started—and where his sister might still be alive, changed but traceable.
