Backstory
Calvin grew up in the foothills of the Ironpeak Mountains, the son of a timber merchant and a woman from the local clans. He learned to move unseen through snow and stone before he could read, and his dual heritage gave him trust among both lowland soldiers and mountain folk—a rare gift in these divided times. When the siege began, he was one of the first to slip through Kessian's lines carrying messages for Commander Aldric, earning a reputation as a ghost among the mercenaries. But three weeks of constant running, watching good people starve, and narrowly escaping capture have worn him thin. He knows the mountain passes better than anyone alive, and that knowledge makes him invaluable—and a target.
