Backstory

Dale was a Union cavalry sergeant until a cannonball took his left arm at Gettysburg. After the war, he drifted west with a prosthetic limb and a pension that barely kept him alive. He turned to bounty hunting—the pay was better, and the work required only one arm and a steady trigger finger. He's tracked killers across five territories and never missed a bounty. But he's tired, haunted by the faces of the men he's brought in, and he's heard whispers that Black Bart Cassidy has $2,000 on his head. The money would mean a year of rest. Maybe more.
