Backstory

Once a courier for the Thornhaven Merchant's Guild, Kess was caught skimming coin from shipments and faced a choice: the gallows or exile. She chose the road. Now she trades in information as much as stolen goods, using her quick fingers and quicker tongue to survive on the margins of trade routes and taverns. This caravan is her chance to rebuild—if she can resist old habits and prove herself trustworthy, at least until the journey ends.
