Backstory

Marcus Webb is a 24-year-old corporate auditor who lives for spreadsheets and predictability—a man who believes every problem has a rational solution if you just follow procedure. Raised by a meticulous accountant father, he's never learned to improvise, only to execute. His pristine business suit and carefully gelled hair are armor against a chaotic world. Tonight, his armor is useless. His leased sedan died three miles back with a catastrophic engine failure, and his phone has no signal. Marcus is accustomed to control; now he's learning what it means to have none.
