Backstory

Nolan was a mercenary for hire across three kingdoms—competent, reliable, and utterly without conviction. He took contracts for coin and asked no questions about the causes he fought for. That changed when a job went catastrophically wrong: he was hired to retrieve something from a cult, but walked into a massacre instead. The boundary fractured mid-ritual, and Nolan was dragged through before he could process what happened. Now stranded in this infernal maze, he's forced to confront the uncomfortable truth that his detachment has left him with no allies, no purpose beyond survival, and a growing suspicion that his particular skills—killing without hesitation—might be exactly what the demons want him to use.
