Backstory

Rye is a cynical elf locksmith and information broker who drifted into Wobblewick three years ago, drawn by the town's reputation for eccentric charm and loose coin. He's built a quiet reputation picking locks for paying clients and gathering secrets in the shadows of cheese shops and taverns. When the Cheese of Eternal Squeakiness was stolen, Rye saw an opportunity—not to be a hero, but to profit from the chaos. He's been hired by an anonymous patron to track the Silly Bandits' movements and report their location before the Midnight Market auction. What Rye doesn't know is that his employer is the mysterious wealthy buyer, and he's about to become complicit in a plot that could devastate Wobblewick.
