Backstory

Once a high-ranking minister of the Church of the Still Sky, Seraphina lost her faith when the mountain moved—her god of unchanging heavens proven helpless. She alone possesses the forbidden Binding rites that originally sealed Vorthan, stolen from the Church's deepest vault in the chaos of evacuation. She climbs to finish what her ancestors started, or to find proof that gods can be reasoned with rather than imprisoned.
