Unofficially, Jane became known as the person who could sit across from a liar for ten minutes and leave with the shape of the truth. Calm, observant, and unnervingly patient, she built influence not through rank or force but through the simple, dangerous habit of noticing what powerful people wanted ignored. Her downfall began when she was assigned to review debrief recordings from a failed classified operation tied to missing personnel and sealed weapons manifests. The transcripts did not match the emotional markers, memory gaps appeared too clean to be natural, and one voiceprint flagged as deceased showed anomalies suggesting post-incident editing. Jane filed concerns through the proper channels. Then she filed them again when they vanished. Days later, she was arrested under charges of cognitive tampering, coerced testimony, and collusion with hostile intelligence. Her credentials were revoked, her published work was scrubbed, and every case she had ever touched was recast as contamination. Now inside Helios, Jane is not trying to overpower the prison.
