Backstory

The illegitimate daughter of a duke, Vesper built a network of informants in the capital's underbelly before being arrested for blackmailing a cardinal. The King offers a full pardon if she succeeds, but Vesper has her own agenda: she believes the Witch possesses proof of the royal family's illegitimacy, a secret worth more than gold.
