About this adventure

The Greenwood has stood as a sacred boundary between the Kingdom of Valdren and the wild unknown for three centuries. Its ancient canopy provided timber, its streams yielded gold, and its spirits granted blessings to those who entered with respect. Six months ago, the logging crews breached the Elder Circle—an act forbidden by treaties older than the crown itself. The forest screamed. Now the Greenwood festers with unnatural shadow, its creatures twisted into nightmares of thorn and bone, and the blight creeps closer to the capital with each passing week. You are one of four champions selected by the desperate King to venture into the heart of the corruption and sever the curse at its source. But the Witch who cast this blight was once the forest's guardian, martyred by the very crown you serve. As you travel the rotting paths, you will discover that cleansing the Greenwood may require betraying your oaths, allying with monsters, or sacrificing the very humanity you seek to save. The forest remembers every axe blow. And it hungers for justice.

Prologue

The wind no longer carries the scent of pine and wildflowers. You stand upon the high battlements at dawn, watching the western horizon where the Greenwood once shimmered emerald and gold. Now it bleeds shadow—a creeping infection of black bark and bone-white rot that swallows another acre each night. The King has summoned his champions. One must enter the heart of that darkness and sever the curse at its root, or the blight will reach the city walls before winter.
