Backstory

Layla was born to a lighthouse keeper's family in the coastal village of Greywatch, where she spent her childhood watching the horizon for signs of danger. When the royal fleet vanished and the songs from the deep began, her entire village was emptied in a single night—half drowned, half taken by something older than memory. She alone survived by hiding in the flooded catacombs beneath the lighthouse, where she found fragments of an ancient journal belonging to a Covenant Keeper. Driven by grief and a desperate need to understand what took her people, Layla has sought out the Keeper's Remnant, offering her skills and her newfound knowledge as payment for answers. She trusts no one completely—not the Crown, not the merchants, not even the whispers of dissidents claiming to want peace.
