Backstory

Mira was born to a merchant's daughter and a wandering elf—a liaison that scandalized both families. Raised in the shadows of Valdris's port cities, she learned to move unseen, to listen at keyholes, and to survive by her wits. She spent years as a spy for the Merchant Consortium, but after discovering that one of their inner circle was feeding information to the Disciples of the Void, she broke with them. Now independent and deeply distrustful of faction loyalty, Mira has been hired by a mysterious intermediary to recover the Crown of Starlight before any single faction can weaponize it—and to uncover which faction leader is the traitor within.
