Backstory

Nancy grew up in the Lower Furnaces, where her parents worked themselves to death in the factories. She taught herself mechanics by scavenging discarded gears and steam parts, eventually becoming the best salvage engineer in the undercity—the person desperate people call when they need something repaired or stolen. Three months ago, she stumbled upon a encrypted Clockwork Syndicate data cache and cracked it, discovering fragments of their Ironheart plan. Rather than go to the authorities (who'd ignore her), she's been quietly gathering intel, waiting for the right moment to expose them and maybe, just maybe, get enough leverage to lift her community out of the furnaces. She trusts no one but her tools and her instincts.
