Backstory

Sanna was born to a midwife in the villages below Blackthorn Keep, inheriting her mother's gift for reading signs in bone, blood, and starlight. For years she served her community quietly, delivering babies and brewing remedies from forest plants. But three seasons ago, the curse began—livestock she'd healed suddenly died, mothers she'd saved fell into fevered sleep speaking words that weren't their own. She realized then that the keep's darkness was spreading like poison through the land itself, and that her old magics, rooted in life and healing, were no match for it. Now she walks the blighted lands seeking answers, driven by guilt and desperate hope that if she can understand the curse's nature, she might find a way to turn it back.
