Backstory

Thall was once a soldier of fortune, hired by minor lords to settle border disputes and suppress bandits. Five years ago, a contract went wrong—the lord he served betrayed his own people, and Thall's conscience fractured when he realized he'd helped slaughter innocents. He fled the profession with blood-soaked coin and a vow never to serve blind ambition again. Now he drifts, taking only jobs where he can discern the moral weight. When whispers of Blackthorn Keep reached him in a tavern, something stirred—a chance to use his steel for something that mattered, to break rather than enforce a curse.
