Backstory

Once the chieftain's youngest blood-son, Thurzak shattered his tusks in ritual combat to renounce his claim—he would not inherit command, he would earn it in the shield-wall. Three years leading the Gallows March patrols have made him a legend among defenders and a walking wound to himself. The chieftain's recent death by plague-arrow has thrust unwanted authority upon him. He fights now to prove that leadership means more than blood.
