Backstory

Thessaly is the child of a Dragonborn mother and a human Compact merchant father — a union that both sides consider shameful. She is smaller than a full Dragonborn, taller than a human, with faint scale patterns along her arms and neck and eyes that shift between brown and gold depending on the light. She has been rejected by both communities her entire life. She now works as a relic-hunter and lore-reader, tracking down fragments of Vethara history that others have forgotten or suppressed. She believes the Heartstone is real, has spent years triangulating its location, and is motivated by something she hasn't fully admitted to herself: she wants proof that the Dragonborn deserve to survive, because she is still not sure she believes it.
