Backstory

A former army medic who served during the early Collapse emergency response before his unit dissolved and he walked away from the last order he was given — an order he has never told anyone about. He's been a traveling doctor ever since, trading medical care for food and passage, moving constantly because staying anywhere long enough means people start asking questions about before. He received the map from Teodora Vance not at Millhaven but three weeks earlier, when he treated her for the illness that would eventually kill her. She told him to bring it to the crossroads and give it to whoever needed it most. He kept it instead. The voice on the signal, when he finally heard it, spoke about the order. It knew. He needs to know how.
