Backstory

Kael was born into the Thornwood Pack, a proud lunar collective that once guarded the borderlands between human and werewolf territory. When the Crimson Circle began its infiltration, Kael was one of the few who sensed the danger early—but his warnings were dismissed by his alpha, who had already struck a devil's bargain with vampire emissaries promising power and immortality. Exiled for his dissent and his refusal to hunt humans, Kael became a solitary wanderer, using his keen senses and shape-shifting gifts to gather intelligence on both the Circle's movements and the fractured Resistance. His loneliness transformed into purpose: he would prove the packs wrong by exposing the vampire conspiracy, even if he had to do it alone. When he first encountered the human resistance fighter at a sacred ley line shrine, marked by moonlight and desperation, something shifted in him—not just attraction, but the terrible, beautiful realization that unity between their kinds was possible, and that his heart might be the bridge his people refused to build.
