Backstory

Lena grew up in the Meridian Settlement as the daughter of a reactor maintenance engineer who died during a routine core inspection when she was twelve. Rather than fear the machines, she became obsessed with understanding them—spending her teens apprenticed to the aging tech-keepers, learning to coax life from salvaged pre-collapse systems. She's spent the last decade as a freelance salvage technician, mapping dead zones and extracting usable components from the ruins. Quiet, methodical, and haunted by the belief that her father's death was preventable, she sees the Archive run not as a desperate gamble but as a chance to prove that human ingenuity can still master the world's broken machinery. She trusts systems more than people, but she's beginning to learn that trust is sometimes necessary.
