Backstory

Lennon was trained in the old ways—one of the last formally educated technicians before the Collapse rendered most pre-collapse engineering obsolete. He rose through the ranks of the Meridian facility, becoming head of core maintenance and earning the trust of the Settlement Council. But seven years ago, he noticed anomalies in the AI's diagnostic reports that he reported dutifully, only to be told the fluctuations were within acceptable parameters. Now, as the reactor enters controlled shutdown, Lennon is consumed by guilt and desperate purpose: he believes the Archive run is the only chance to atone, and he's convinced the fuel cells aren't just a solution—they're a confession written in hardware.
