Backstory

Lysandor spent three centuries in the Archives of Starfall, cataloging texts that others deemed worthless—fragmented chronicles of the pre-kingdom civilizations, marginalia in dead languages, half-burned prophecies. While the world above grew comfortable with its present, he alone suspected the Crown of Yunith was not a symbol of stability but a restraint, its theft a symptom of something far deeper than theft. When the High Council finally called for scholars to aid the hunt, Lysandor saw not a reward opportunity but vindication: proof that the forgotten past held answers the present desperately needed. He joined the expedition not out of duty but obsession—the crown's disappearance is the most significant historical event in centuries, and he will not be denied the chance to understand it.
