In the desert metropolis of Vyrth-cradled-in-Bone, the wealthy commission their tombs before their homes, and the impoverished sell their skeletons as collateral. The dead are currency here—tracked, traded, and leveraged through the infamous 'bone-debt' economy pioneered by Ossamere the Thrice-Buried, a banker-lich whose heart lies locked in a vault beyond any key but one. That key is a solar dagger, forged from screaming star-metal and radiating enough power to blind seers across the city. It has appeared in the hands of a stranger who woke in a crater of fused glass with no memory of how they came to hold it. In three days, the Crimson Meridian will align with the Bone Bazaar, and every corpse in Vyrth will rise to settle their accounts. The city will become a wailing ledger of undeath unless the dagger is used—but plunging it into Ossamere's vault destroys the bone-debt records and collapses the economy, while using it to kill the lich preserves the system that enslaves the dead.
