Backstory

Once the finest sword of the Ardenmere Royal Guard, Aldric was stripped of his rank and title after refusing a direct order to execute unarmed prisoners during a border skirmish — an order that later proved to have come from a corrupt general. He has spent two years wandering, taking mercenary work he is overqualified for, carrying a shame that was never truly his to bear. He has come to the Edge not out of patriotism, but because there is nowhere else left to go — and because standing still while the world dies feels like the same cowardice he was accused of.
