Backstory

Seris is one of the last surviving members of the Conclave of Threads, the body that once regulated magic across Valdenmoor — and the institution that failed to stop Malachar Voss before he became the Pale King. She has spent a decade studying his methods, trying to find the theoretical crack in his immortality, and she believes she has found it — but the final piece of the answer is in the Archive of Mirethis, deep in the dead lands. She carries guilt for the Conclave's failure and a fierce, almost reckless certainty that knowledge is the only weapon that will end this.
