Caedran Ashveil

Backstory

Caedran is a distant cousin by blood — born of an Ael'Varath mother and a human father, making him half-blood and perpetually marginal within elven society. He was raised in the family's service but never fully accepted, and has spent decades working as a scout and tracker in the forest's outer reaches, developing a pragmatic ruthlessness and a deep knowledge of the Everwood's terrain that no full-blood elf possesses. He is less emotionally invested in preserving the Aethermourn than the others, and he is the only one willing to ask the question everyone else is avoiding: what if the forest cannot be saved, and the only responsible choice is to find a way to destroy the beacon before the Vorrkai reach the wider world.
