Dr. Yusuf Adeyemi

Backstory

Yusuf has given thirty years of his life to this mission — first as a junior researcher on the atmospheric modeling team, then as the project's lead terraforming scientist, and now as the only person on the ship who fully understands both the planet's original survey data and the equipment designed to work with it. He went into cryo voluntarily for the transit years to preserve his cognitive sharpness for arrival, and he was woken early when the sensor anomalies were flagged. The gap between the planet he designed solutions for and the planet he is now seeing in the data is, for him, not just a scientific problem. It is personal in a way that frightens him.
