Backstory

Bram is a former pit fighter and caravan guard who was imprisoned after killing a nobleman's son in what he maintains was a fair fight the nobleman's son started. Rough-edged and plain-spoken, he has no interest in politics or schemes, but he is fiercely protective of those he considers his people, and he has earned a quiet respect in the prison yard through sheer, undeniable physical presence. He is not stupid — he simply prefers direct solutions and has a deep suspicion of anyone who uses too many words.
