Backstory

Cael has spent a decade working as a spy inside noble courts, able to become whoever the room requires — a servant, a courtier, a priest, a grieving widow. Their half-elven features are malleable enough with the right cosmetics, and their social intelligence borders on supernatural. The Covenant values them above almost anyone for long-term infiltration work, and Cael has been inside Castle Dreadmere before, under a different name, two years ago. They know the layout. They know the faces. They also know things about the king's condition that they have not yet shared with the Covenant.
