Backstory

Sable was raised inside the Ashen Covenant itself, the orphaned daughter of a Shadow who died on a contract gone wrong. She has never known any life but this one — blades, silence, and the cold arithmetic of necessary deaths. She is the Covenant's most technically proficient assassin, but the vote on Aldric is the first contract she has questioned, because she once saw the king before his corruption and recognized something worth mourning.
